The California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) provides expert investigative services to assist local, state and federal agencies in major criminal investigations across the state.
Headquartered in Sacramento, the California Bureau of Investigation extends law enforcement services to all 58 counties through five regional offices and three field offices.
CBI performs investigations for the Attorney General's Legal Divisions; assists district attorneys and local law enforcement agencies in complex or multi-jurisdictional investigations and in cases where local conflicts of interest arise; and conducts special investigations as directed by the Attorney General in response to the Governor, the Legislature or other state agencies.
